Protein Biochemist Position

Kendrick Labs is a small contract research organization specializing in custom protein analysis for pharma/biotech/food companies and academic labs. We are registered with the FDA and follow good manufacturing practices (GMP) guidelines. The quality assurance system required by pharma companies keeps our standards high across the board.

Our approach is one of custom problem solving through teamwork. The Lab Manager leads group meeting three mornings a week to discuss projects and schedule work. Written standard operating procedures (SOPs) are in place to aid in training new Biochemists. Job Description: The ideal candidate would, after training, be responsible for lab work as part of a team to complete various projects (50%). In addition, they would perform computer analysis of 1D and 2D gel patterns using sophisticated software (40%) and assist the Lab Manager and Western Blot Manager as needed with miscellaneous jobs (10%).

Position Requirements: The ideal candidate:

  • Understands basic protein chemistry – primary, secondary and tertiary structure etc.
  • Is a careful worker, pays attention to detail, yet makes deadlines
  • Is a team player, but still shows initiative in solving problems
  • Can organize complex data
  • Has excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Has experience in performing protein assays including interpretation of results.

Education/Experience Requirements: Minimum of BS in a Science-related field. Additional experience is preferred but not required.

Salary: The Biochemist track starts at $35,500/yr (annual raises guaranteed) plus 100% health/dental insurance for employee and retirement benefits.
